Apologies for the short notice, but tomorrow (Tuesday, March 21) is an important opportunity to voice your opinions on long-term planning for the region, including future housing growth and open-space preservation. The County is hosting two community open houses to gather public input, both at Wilkinson Public Library in the community room. The first is from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and the second is 4 – 7 p.m.
Please take time to drop in and share your views about how, how much, and where the region should grow, and any concerns or ideas you may have about future development, housing, traffic, water, and other issues. The press release on tomorrow’s meetings is here.
As previously mentioned in this newsletter, the Last Dollar Collective is concerned the County will seek to change the Master Plan in a way that allows high-density development on open mesas including Diamond Ridge, since last December’s court order reversed the County’s attempt to rezone those parcels for community housing. High-density housing clusters make much more sense as close as possible to Town and next to existing infrastructure and water sources.
